"Spread
the Stoke: Organized Chaos"
The idea
for this event sprang up on the discussion boards of Wakeworld.com,
I had noticed how the freeride atmosphere of the GoWakin
gatherings had an overwhelming response in Northern California's
Delta area and thought about how I could transfer that into positive
energy here in AZ. The AWA is a great contest format organization,
but outside of the monthly tournies there is no promotion of freeriding
or gatherings not related to the format and I wanted something more.......
I presented
the idea as a "hook up and ride" gathering rather than
any sort of contest or event. Since I don't have a boat myself I
depended on the generosity of others to come through if the event
was to be a success. I have to thank the following people for the
use of their fantastic boats!!
Joe
Boyle and his Sick X-star with a thigh-high wake and bumpin
tunes
Steve Jenkins
with his 1997 Calabria - The Thrill Seeker what a sweet set up
Owen
Zorge (2001 22i Type R - Killer Machine)
The riders who did
manage to show up and had a fantastic day riding Jared, Ruddy, Chris,
Balzer, Grogan, Heavy Thunder, Neal, Jason, Steve, Joe, Owen, CeCe
and Candace (Great to have female rippers out there!!) Thank You
all for showing up and making a monday on the lake unforgettable!
I'd like to thank Mike Balzer for some of these pictures as well,
great work!
Jared - Watch
out for the cornback rattlestricter, you bailed early on a great
day of riding, in all I got 7 sets Monday, damn... I'm tired, knee
hurts and need some ice!!
Ruddy - Brotha
you rip, that first set was so smooth and effortless, Tanny, HS
Backroll, Crow, TS Front, big 3 and then taking everything to 5s,
forget the 3..... Body surfing is where it's at. The Heavy Thunder
barrel roll to lose my pants at Bartlett [again!!]
Jumbo Joe - Can
you get any higher on that Double Up from Owen's boat? Damn man...
stomping big 180s, R2R, big airs, great tunes and a sick wake. Thigh
High and killin' it!!
Steve - Three
nights of camping for you and Chris (what's his last name by the
way?), you two are hard core! Chris throwing front flips on the
last day, sick man!! Raley, Raley!! Raley!!
Balzer - Get
off my water!!! Nice to see you out at Bartlett and I
hope you got a little closer to landing that crow, thanks for the
great pictures. Did you want to post them here too?
Owen - Super clean,
a great crip wake and a beautiful machine. Lots of storage, room
to sit and a great seating layout. Between you, Jason and Neal your
boat has a ton of stoke for the sport, just hang in there it will
come in time. We all paid our dues riding. That Premier 140 rocker
and pop was awesome, too bad I rode it backwards.... Haaa!! What
an ass I am sometimes!!
Grogan - dude
thanks for showing up and filming by behemoth ass on tape. I have
learned so much just watching what I do wrong and how I land. Without
the Video I would have kept on thinking I was Shaun Murray!! Have
fun in Canada, Ehhhh!
