Bartlett Lake

Prior to the Just Ride event in Lake Havasu City Malibu and Dustin Duea @ Paradise Marine (the local Malibu dealer) sponsored a clinic with Gerry Nunn and Ricky Gonzalez, I was lucky enough to get a spot on the boat with Gerry and had a fantastic day. There were only three other riders on the boat which included the driver, Andy one of Dustin's salesmen, so it was a ton of riding.

Althought the shutter speed on my camera wasn't fast enough, this is Gerry setting up for the 313. Watching him throw that trick was, as Barry Goldwater III stated, "worth the price of admission"

Gerry's coaching is very laid back and he's great at pointing out the little technical things make up an enitre action. There were three different skill levels on the boat. There was little ripper, Brian Siwick on the boat who couldn't have been more than 10 or 11 trying to master 180's and riding fakie, myself the older beginner level rider trying to perfect toeside jumps, half-cab 180s and integrating grabs into my bag o'tricks, finally there was Barry Goldwater III who is an amazing rider with nearly 20 inverts, smooth stlye and a great on-water persona, he looking to learn a heel-side front and take some of inverts "BIGGER!!" Needless to say we all had a great time in the boat and afterwards at the catered lunch. If Gerry ever gets into coaching full time I would highly recommend him to anyone, regardless of the skill level.
